UNICEFからのメール

Dear Nobuko,

The children of Japan have suffered an unprecedented disaster. But thanks to the support of generous U.S. Fund for UNICEF donors, UNICEF is providing strategic support to help Japanese children deal with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.

Aid for Japan

Children face an especially difficult path as Japan comes to terms with the devastation from the earthquake and tsunami. Many also face the potential effects of nuclear radiation.

UNICEF has unrivaled expertise in helping children survive and recover from such extraordinary situations. With thousands of families still living in shelters, addressing the unique needs of children is especially critical.

UNICEF has supplied 13 tons of clean drinking water as well as hygiene supplies for evacuees in hard-hit Miyagi and is setting up child-friendly spaces for parents and children.

UNICEF's efforts in Japan have been bolstered by a $500,000 joint donation from Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. Throughout Opening Weekend, baseball fans will be encouraged to donate to UNICEF's relief efforts.
